Methods Specimens from cytoreductive surgery for mucinous appendiceal neoplasia, in which acellular mucin was found on initial histopathological examination, were prospectively identified.

Acellular mucin in pseudomyxoma peritonei of appendiceal origin: what is adequate sampling for histopathology? [10.1136/jclinpath-2019-206213]

Primary retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma (PRMC) is a rare cystic lesion occurring mostly in women with a histological analogy to ovarian mucinous cystadenoma.

Laparoscopic Resection of a Primary Retroperitoneal Mucinous Cystadenoma [10.1159/000499441]

Mucinous cystadenomas are the most frequent cystic benign tumors of the pancreas.

Pancreatic mucinous cystadenoma doubly complicated by acute pancreatitis and retroperitoneal rupture. [10.1016/j.jviscsurg.2018.08.011]

Results: Four of our cases which were diagnosed as cystic lesion clinically and radiologically , on histopathological examination two of them reported as seromucinous cystadenoma and rest two as seromucinous borderline tumors (SMBT).

Ovarian seromucinous tumor: A case series of WHO newly introduced entity [10.4103/TJOG.TJOG_30_19]

Primary ovarian mucinous tumors can be difficult to distinguish from metastatic gastrointestinal neoplasms by histology alone.

A combination of the immunohistochemical markers CK7 and SATB2 is highly sensitive and specific for distinguishing primary ovarian mucinous tumors from colorectal and appendiceal metastases [10.1038/s41379-019-0302-0]
