Herein, we report such an aliphatic polyester from ethylene oxide and maleic anhydride, which exhibits reversible transformation between amorphous (a T g of 18 °C) and crystalline (a T m of 124 °C) states controlled by cis-trans isomerization of C=C bonds in the polymer backbone without any change in both the molecular weight and dispersity of polymer.
