Introduction to Plasmon Enhancement

What is/are Plasmon Enhancement?

Plasmon Enhancement - A finite-difference time-domain method is developed for studying the plasmon enhancement of light absorption from vertically aligned GaAs nanowire arrays decorated with Au nanoparticles. ^[1] Moreover, the plasmon enhancement for THz emission from NPG is stronger than that from gold film, indicating that randomly nanoporous structure is also effective for plasmonic enhancement in THz band. ^[2] We isolate the contributions of plasmon enhancement from the theoretical calculation of the field enhancement factor using the effective medium approximation of plasmonic heterostructure, which is in excellent agreement with the experimental data. ^[3] We found that the modes are well split in Au coated ZnO rods when compared with as-grown rods, resulted from the plasmon enhancement of WGM modes. ^[4] The plausible mechanism of plasmon enhancement in the Fe-SAC ECL system has been discussed. ^[5] Aluminum bowtie nanoantenna arrays fabricated by colloid lithography followed by oxygen plasma processing were used to demonstrate the localized-surface-plasmon enhancement of UV light emission from ZnO grown by atomic layer deposition. ^[6] On the other hand, the effect of the plasmon enhancement is clearly seen in the emitted random laser intensity, which is more efficient and with a lower threshold in the presence of the Ag nanoparticles. ^[7] We give in-depth discussion of the mechanistic aspects of the plasmon enhancement. ^[8]

Surface Plasmon Enhancement

In this work we combine CARS with surface plasmon enhancement on a periodic metasurface. ^[1] This nearly perfect absorption capability is attributed to the synergetic effects of the localized surface plasmon enhancement of Ag nanoribbon, graphene plasmonics, metal–insulator–graphene mode, and Fabry–Perot resonance. ^[2] Optical spectroscopies facilitated by surface plasmon enhancement can shed light on this field, yet past studies relied on either highly inhomogeneous "hot spots", or planar plasmon modes with limited enhancement. ^[3]
