Trinidad Lake - The natural asphalt called Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) has been applied very often due to its consistent properties, high viscosity and density, and superior rheological properties, and effective blending with other bitumen. ^[1] In this study, the performances of Trinidad lake asphalt (TLA), virgin asphalt binder, and aged asphalt binder were first compared, and then the modification mechanism of TLA on virgin asphalt and aged asphalt was explored. ^[2] To modify the binder properties to obtain the expected performance of the MA mixture, Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) is often applied. ^[3] Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) is often applied to make mastic asphalt resistant to permanent deformation. ^[4] The influence of waste cooking oil (WCO) on the performance characteristics of asphaltic materials indigenous to Trinidad namely Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA), Trinidad Petroleum Bitumen (TPB) and a TLA:TPB (50:50) blend was investigated to deduce the applicability of the WCO as a performance enhancer for the base asphalt. ^[5] Trinidad lake asphalt has been used as a modifier to blend with the traditional petroleum bitumen. ^[6] Among these products, the natural Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) has been shown to improve pavement performance. ^[7] This research investigates the influence of waste polymeric polyethylene terephthalate (PET) materials obtained from waste plastic bottles and crumb rubber (CR) obtained from used automobile tyres on the performance (Marshall stability, flow and compression) and durability (weathering) characteristics of road-paving material made from Trinidad Petroleum Bitumen and the world-renowned Trinidad Lake Asphalt. ^[8] A comprehensive experiment involving different Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) and Styrene–Butadiene–Rubber (SBR) compound modified binders was conducted to investigate the rheological and aging properties of TLA and SBR compound modified binders. ^[9] The properties of Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) and SBS compound modified petroleum asphalt were investigated. ^[10] 5 mm to 10 mm) and dosages (up to 8 wt%) on the rheological properties of Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) and Trinidad Petroleum Bitumen (TPB) was evaluated by measuring changes in the phase angle, δ (measure of the elasticity) and the complex modulus, G* (measure of the degree of stiffness). ^[11]
