Introduction to Implanted Telemetry Transmitters

What is/are Telemetry Transmitters?

Telemetry Transmitters - male cynomolgus macaques (n = 6) were implanted with telemetry transmitters to record EEG and electromyogram (EMG) activity and Acticals to assess locomotor activity under baseline conditions and following injections either with vehicle or the caffeine (CAF; 10 mg/kg, i. ^[1] Amphetamine produced significant dose-related increases in blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), and locomotor activity in conscious rats fitted with surgically implanted biotelemetry transmitters. ^[2] After 10 min, the left coronary artery was ligated, followed by implantation of telemetry transmitters. ^[3] Radiotelemetry transmitters were implanted for continuous monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate. ^[4] Continuous recording was performed via implanted telemetry transmitters, followed by arrhythmia-analysis and calculation of autonomic indices derived from heart rate variability. ^[5] The study was conducted on adult male Sprague-Dawley rats with telemetry transmitters implanted to monitor heart rate (HR) and systolic blood pressure (SBP) throughout the experiment course. ^[6] In this study, we assessed reflex impairment and then affixed radio telemetry transmitters to 34 blue-finned mahseer (Tor khudree) angled on the Cauvery River, India, between February and May of 2015. ^[7] Male (n = 55) and female (n = 40) Sprague-Dawley rats with telemetry transmitters for a derivation II ECG. ^[8] Adult male rats with implanted telemetry transmitters for continuous recording of electroencephalographic (EEG) activity were exposed to soman and treated with atropine sulfate and the oxime HI-6 one minute after soman exposure and with midazolam, ketamine and/or valproic acid 40 min after seizure onset. ^[9] Recent technological advances in telemetry transmitters has increased the availability of tags sufficiently small enough to implant in juvenile carps. ^[10] Here, we tested whether R-VK4-40 ((R)-N-(4-(4-(2-Chloro-3-ethylphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)-3-hydroxybutyl)-1H-indole-2-carboxamide) and R-VK4-116 ((R)-N-(4-(4-(3-Chloro-5-ethyl-2-methoxyphenyl)piperazin-1-yl)-3-hydroxybutyl)-1H-indole-2-carboxamide) have unwanted cardiovascular effects in the presence of oxycodone, a prescription opioid, or cocaine in freely moving rats fitted with surgically implanted telemetry transmitters. ^[11]
