Introduction to Taman Peninsula

A novel anaerobic bacterium (strain M08_MBT) was isolated from a terrestrial mud volcano (Taman Peninsula, Russia).

In order to obtain the missing data on the magnetostratigraphy of transitional layers between Sarmatian and the Maeotian parts in the Eastern Paratethys, the authors studied the Upper Sarmatian ― the Lower Maeotian deposits in the Panagia Cape section (the Taman Peninsula, Russia) using petromagnetic and magnetostratigraphic methods.
