Introduction to Spray Torch

What is/are Spray Torch?

Spray Torch - Anode erosion is a common concern in dc plasma spray torches. ^[1] In DC plasma spray torches, anode erosion is a common concern. ^[2] The paper includes the results of the research of the influence of such spraying parameters as the current strength and the plasma-forming gas velocity supplied to the plasma generator and the volume of protective gas supplied to the spray torch through the fluidized bed system nozzles located in the midsection of the atomizer spraying chamber. ^[3] In this work, several diagnostic methods were applied to characterize the plasma jet of an Axial III™ spray torch to further the understanding of this spray system. ^[4] A two-dimensional and stationary magnetohydrodynamic model of a plasma spray torch operated with argon is developed to predict the plasma properties in a steady operating mode. ^[5] The coatings were generated while using both radial and axial injection of the suspensions into Oerlikon-Metco 3MB and Mettech Axial III plasma spray torches, respectively. ^[6] Based on the research of the mathematical model of the spray painting film thickness and the requirement of spray painting technology of rotational artware, the coordinate transformation of spray torch and the expression of the projection is derived. ^[7] In this study, a new compact High Velocity Oxy-Air Fuel (HVOAF) thermal spray torch designed to coat internal surfaces was traversed within cylindrical pipes of internal diameters (IDs) of 70 mm, 90 mm and 110 mm and a WC-10Co-4Cr coating was applied with a commercially available powder feedstock. ^[8] Lanthanum oxide (La2O3) reinforced Hydroxyapatite coating was deposited by using unique gas tunnel type plasma spray torch under optimum spraying conditions. ^[9] Since the 1970s, the Ar-H2 plasma has been the standard air plasma spray (APS) gas system employed to deposit ZrO2-Y2O3 (YSZ) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) for the gas turbine industry, particularly regarding the legacy plasma spray torches. ^[10]
