Introduction to Nationwide Readmission

METHODS Using the Nationwide Readmission Database (2010-2014), we defined an Index hospitalization as an elective hospitalization with a principal procedure of total hip or knee replacement among adults aged ≥18 years.

METHODS A secondary analysis of the Nationwide Readmissions Database (2016-2017) was conducted.

METHODS We queried the Nationwide Readmissions Database (October 2015 to December 2018) for patients undergoing TS-TMVR procedures.

This cohort study examined patient data from the United States population-based Nationwide Readmissions Database.

METHODS We queried the Nationwide Readmission Database (NRD) from January 2016 to December 2018 to identify patients who underwent primary PCI and thrombectomy.

Methods We queried the Nationwide Readmission Database (NRD) from January to November for the years 2016–2017 to identify hospitalizations of patients who underwent PCI with atherectomy.

PATIENT SAMPLE A total of 533 frail patients and 538 nonfrail patients who underwent lumbar fusion with malignant spinal neoplasms within the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD).

We used the Nationwide Readmission Database (NRD), identifying patients who underwent implantable LVAD placement 2010–2017 using ICD-9 and 10 codes.

METHODS We generated estimates using data from National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, National Hospital Ambulatory Medical Care Survey, Nationwide Emergency Department Sample, National Inpatient Sample, Kids' Inpatient Database, Nationwide Readmissions Database, Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program, National Vital Statistics System, Centers for Disease Control Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research, MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters data, MarketScan Medicare Supplemental data, United Network for Organ Sharing registry, Medical Expenditure Panel Survey, and National Institutes of Health.

METHODS The Nationwide Readmission Database 2018 was queried for hospitalizations with T2MI as a primary or secondary diagnosis.

We conducted a cross sectional analysis of the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) years 2010 thru 2012.

Methods This was a retrospective observational cohort study of patients aged ≥65 years with discharge diagnosis of delirium identified from the Nationwide Readmission Database using common International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, and Clinical Modification codes linked to delirium diagnosis.

METHODS Included in this study was a population-based sample of pediatric patients with hydrocephalus who, in 2010-2014, had undergone new ventricular shunt placement and had sufficient follow-up, as recorded in the Nationwide Readmissions Database.

The algorithm was applied to extract our target population from the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD).

Methods We performed a retrospective study using the Nationwide Readmission Database for the year 2016 and 2017.

Study designs/methods Using the Nationwide Readmission Database (NRD) (2013), we identified primary discharge diagnoses of asthma by using International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification code ‘493’.

We utilized the Nationwide Readmissions Database 2010–2015 to identify all hospitalizations with the primary discharge diagnosis of TGA.

Methods Using the Nationwide Readmission Database, we examined all patients with IBD hospitalized from 2010 to 2014.

Methods: We performed a retrospective study using the Nationwide Readmissions Database.

METHODS The Nationwide Readmission Database was retrospectively queried for all patients diagnosed with NS (n = 63) or receiving total bilateral adrenalectomy (TBA) surgery (n = 275) between 2016 and 2017.

METHODS Patients with endometrial cancer undergoing hysterectomy between 2010 and 2014 were identified using the Nationwide Readmissions Database.

MATERIALS AND METHODS An observational analysis of the Nationwide Readmissions Database was performed for all patients who underwent elective radical cystectomy in 2016 to 2017.

This study was a retrospective review of data from the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) from 2010 to 2014.

We reviewed hypertension information available in the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), and Pregnancy Risk Assessment and Monitoring System (PRAMS) health surveys, the Health care Cost and Utilization Project administrative data sets (National Inpatient Sample, State Inpatient Databases, Nationwide Emergency Department Sample, and State Emergency Department Database and the Nationwide Readmissions Database), and the National Vital Statistics System.

Design, Setting, and Participants This cohort study used data from all adult hospitalizations in the Nationwide Readmission Database from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2017, with a primary diagnosis of HF.

The Nationwide Readmission Database 2018 was queried for primary AF hospitalizations with and without type 2 MI.

METHODS Patients undergoing surgical resection for cancer were selected from the Nationwide Readmissions Database (2010-2014).

METHODS Patients with IBD-related hospitalizations were identified using the Nationwide Readmissions Database from 2016 to 2018.

Research Design and Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study using the Nationwide Readmissions Database from 2010 to 2014.

METHODS This was a retrospective review of the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD) between 2010 and 2014 of select neck mass procedures, defined as affecting the following: thyroid, salivary gland, cervical lymph nodes, branchial cleft, thymus, and head and neck vessels.

Nationwide Readmission Database (NRD) is a representative sample of hospitalizations in the US (from about 28 states) accounting for about 60% of the US population.

Using the Nationwide Readmission Database (2010–2014), we identified all adults (age ≥ 18 years) with a principal diagnosis of biliary-AP who had undergone CCY during the index hospitalization.

Objective For evaluation of 90-day readmissions after an inpatient admission for reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS), hospitalizations due to RCVS were identified from the Nationwide Readmissions Database from 2016 to 2017.

Nationwide Readmission Database (2017) was queried using the International Classification of Diseases codes (ICD-10-CM) to identify type 2 MI patients.

Data were gathered from the Nationwide Readmissions Database from the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project, compiled by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

METHODS Patients 40 years and older who had surgical revascularization for severe lower extremity PAD were identified in the Nationwide Readmissions Database, 2010 - 2014.

We used the Nationwide Readmissions Databases to identify all percutaneous (non-transapical) TAVIs performed in the US from July, 2017 to December, 2018.

METHODS AND RESULTS CS hospitalizations were obtained from the Nationwide Readmissions Database 2010-2014.

STUDY DESIGN This is a cross-sectional study of women with delivery encounters identified in the Nationwide Readmission Database from October 2015 to December 2017.

METHODS The Nationwide Readmissions Database (2010-2014 [International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision] and 2016-2018 [International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision]) was used to identify all adult subjects (age ≥18 years) who underwent elective surgical resection of nonmalignant colorectal polyps.

Methods and Results In the Nationwide Readmissions Database using International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10), we identified 236 156 patient hospitalizations with cardiogenic shock between 2016 and 2017.

METHODS Patients undergoing LAAO in 2017 were identified in the Nationwide Readmissions Database.

METHODS The Nationwide Readmissions Database, 2016 to 2017 was used to identify hospitalizations with TPE with and without CVC insertion.

Methods: Women undergoing ovarian cancer surgery between 2010 and 2015 were identified in the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD).
