What is/are Gold Supported?

Gold Supported - Here we report the extraordinary performance of gold supported on fluorine-substituted hydroxyapatite (HAP) catalysts in the CO preferential oxidation (COPROX) process. ^[1] Activity of gold supported catalysts strongly depends on the type and composition of support, which determine the size of Au nanoparticles (Au NPs), gold-support interaction influencing gold properties, interaction with the reactants and, in this way, the reaction pathway. ^[2] The review summarizes data on modern approaches to N-alkylation of anilines using metal complex and heterogeneous catalysts based on palladium, platinum, rhodium, nickel, iron, copper, gold supported on various materials, as well as zeolites, metal oxides (titanium, iron, copper, and aluminum). ^[3] The efficiency of gold supported on Mn2O3-Fe2O3 mixed oxides in the preferential oxidation of CO to CO2 in H2 rich streams and in total oxidation is influenced by the particle size of gold. ^[4] The aim of this general review is to give an overview of the reaction pathways involving the transformation of carbon monoxide (CO), methanol synthesis and propylene epoxidation using gold (Au) and gold supported clusters. ^[5] Promotion of the HCHO oxidation over gold supported on Co-promoted ceria catalysts can be related to the higher concentration of oxygen vacancies and an improvement in the redox properties, which can contribute to the better activation of O2 and an enhancement of the oxygen mobility. ^[6] The dynamic DRIFT study clearly revealed that the CO species adsorbed on Auδ- sites were the most reactive ones in both gold supported systems for CO oxidation. ^[7] Here we demonstrate a simple and cost effective synthetic route for selective esterification of aldehydes with high productivity in the presence of molecular oxygen (O2) on a gold supported lanthanum oxide (Au/La2O3) nanoparticle catalyst. ^[8] Gold supported on ceria-zirconia is one of the most active low temperature water-gas shift catalysts reported to date but rapid deactivation occurs under reaction conditions. ^[9] The linearity of the Constable-Cremer relationship between the apparent activation energy and the natural log of the pre-exponential factor indicates the mechanistic similarity in formic acid decomposition on gold supported on unmodified and lanthanum-modified titania catalysts. ^[10] Atomically dispersed gold supported by carbon dots amplifies mitochondrial oxidative stress, and leads to irreversible cell damage, inhibiting hepatocellular carcinoma in animal models. ^[11] Gold supported on a high-temperature (≥700 °C) calcined ZnCr2O4 support displayed the best catalytic performance in gas-phase oxidation of cyclohexanol to cyclohexanone, which is an important intermediate in the chemical industry. ^[12]
