Introduction to Gold Salt

Apart from traditional strategies, gold salts and gold complexes in the last two decades have emerged as frontline catalysts for nucleophilic and electrophilic addition of π-systems via carbophilic activation.

Block copolymer dispersions that form gels at body temperature and that additionally are able to reduce a gold salt to nanoparticles (AuNPs) directly in the final formulation under mild conditions were designed as hybrid depots for photothermal therapy.
