Introduction to Anaplastic Features

Two distinct histological subtypes of Wilms tumor have been described: tumors lacking anaplasia (the favorable subtype) and tumors displaying anaplastic features (the unfavorable subtype).

Pathologic findings revealed a pilocytic astrocytoma with anaplastic features.

In this phase II clinical trial, we identified mutations, including DNA damage repair (DDR) mutations, in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) who were treated with durvalumab and olaparib and determined how many of them can be described as anaplastic, and we examined the overlap between anaplastic features and DDR mutations.

On the 3rd hospital day, a tracheostomy with incisional biopsy and frozen section was done which revealed round to spindle cell neoplasm with anaplastic features.

Background: Myxopapillary ependymoma (MPE) with anaplastic features is extremely rare.

The recurrent lesion showed anaplastic features and lipidization.

CONCLUSION Timely diagnosis and adequate risk-adopted treatment of thyroid cancer reduce the frequency of high-risk cases with distant metastases and the possible protracted dedifferentiation of TC to anaplastic features.
