Introduction to Adolescents Sexual

Talk with parents and extended family about sex and relationships can support adolescents’ sexual health.

Optimisation of resources and minimisation of conflicts could be realised through integrated health systems in the management of adolescents’ sexual health issues.

Results Findings highlighted adults’ perceptions on adolescents’ sexuality and the presence of stringent conceptions about the side-effects of contraception in the study communities.

The result obtained indicated what constitutes peer influence for in-school adolescents as making friends on Facebook and doing homework with friends of opposite sex, among others; In-school adolescents’ sexual behaviour in South East Nigeria are attraction to their opposite sex and enjoying sexual intercourse under the influence of alcohol, among others.

Therefore, it is necessary to design and implement culture-appropriate skill based programs to enhance the teachers’ professional competence regarding the adolescents’ sexual health.

Several studies have identified explicative factors for adolescents’ sexual risk behaviors and related outcomes such as unintended pregnancy; however, less is known about the mechanisms through which such factors act.

Conclusions: Egalitarian values have a relationship with adolescents’ sexual activity and condom use, and thus contribute to sexual health and well-being in Africa, South America and Asia.

Introduction: This article aimed to analyse constructions of adolescents’ sexualities and sexual health and the consequences of these discourses for adolescents’ exercise of their sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in rural Zambia.
