3d Tee - Consequently, the role of 3D TEE in guiding catheter‐based mitral interventions has been evolving rapidly. ^[1] METHODS In 72 patients who underwent imaging-guided LAA occlusion, 3D models of the LAA were created from 3D TEE data sets retrospectively (retrospective cohort). ^[2] There was a significant concordance of the results between 3D TEE and CT in the LAA orifice evaluation. ^[3] This imaging technique entered the clinical arena during the first decade of the new century, when the expansion of the computing power of computers and the development of nanotechnology have made possible to insert a full matrix array into the tip of a transesophageal probe, providing TEE real-time volumetric imaging and prompting the use of 3D TEE in different cardiological, clinical, and research settings. ^[4] Planimetry was used for 3D TEE. ^[5] Mitral annular geometry was quantified on pre-procedural 2D transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and intra-procedural 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE); 3D TEE was used to measure MitraClip induced changes in annular geometry. ^[6] A 3D TEE showed a large mobile mass in the left atrium. ^[7] Here, we report the case of a 57‐year‐old woman in whom cardiac erosion was very well visualized by 3D transesophageal echocardiography (3D TEE) after percutaneous ASD closure. ^[8] Recent improvements in 3D TEE post processing rendering techniques referred to as TrueVue (Philips Medical Systems, Andover, MA, USA). ^[9] RT-3D TEE has higher spatial resolution, resulting in images with unparalleled anatomical detail when compared with two-dimensional (2D) imaging. ^[10] This is a challenging case of a mass described as an intra cardiac, but proved to be outside the heart by 3D TEE and subsequently by surgery. ^[11] No differences were found between 3D TTE and 3D TEE for both MPR and DS. ^[12] Four different LAA morphologies (Chicken wing CW, Cauliflower, cactus and windsock) were determined in each group by 3D TEE, MDCT or CMRI. ^[13] This report highlights the additive role and superior ability of 3D TEE in the identification and anatomic delineation of mitral ring dehiscence. ^[14] Additionally, we included a cohort of patients (n = 27) assessed by both MDCT and 3D TEE between October 2017 and April 2018 to enable intra-individual comparison of the two methods. ^[15] RT‐3D TEE provides better visualization of the atrial and ventricular sides of the prosthesis, improves understanding of the relation between cardiac structures, and helps in discriminating pannus from throm‐ bus. ^[16] CONCLUSION For both novices and experts, 3D TEE measurements of the anterior mitral valve leaflet were significantly shorter than 2D measurements. ^[17] A Bland and Altman graph was plotted to assess the concordance between the dimensions by 2D and 3D TEE. ^[18] 2D and 3D TEE are imaging modality of choice for recognition of LA and LAA clot. ^[19] 3D TEE can be limited in anterior aortic PVLs and by shadowing artifacts from prosthetic devices. ^[20] It has been suggested that 3‐dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3D TEE) may be used instead of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) for TAVR planning. ^[21] The relation of the left atrial mass with the mitral valve was shown by 2D and 3D TEE imaging (Videos 4, 5) The patient underwent successful resection of the two masses (Fig. ^[22] The 3D TEE-TAD, defined as the longest dimension, and tricuspid annulus (TA) eccentricity index, defined as the shortest/longest dimension ratio, were obtained. ^[23]
