I have a question: What is the focus of this magazine? Can basic physiological research be invested?

The manuscript was submitted in May 2017 and sent for review with a notice of about 10 days. After a month, the reviewer's comments came back. One reviewer asked two questions, and one reviewer asked three pages. The editor decided to reject the manuscript. Then I said that if all the problems can be solved, I can submit it and deal with it as a new manuscript, but I will find at least one new reviewer. After adding the experiment for half a year, I submitted the manuscript just in time for Christmas, and I notified it for review after 20 days. After about 20 days, the reviewer's comments came back, and no new reviewer was found, it was sent back to the reviewer who raised a lot of questions. Then, the reviewer said ok. The editor indicated that one sentence should be changed in the article. After that, it was revised and submitted back, and it was officially accepted in two weeks.

Why there are so few reviews in this magazine

The rejection rate is more than 90%. Don't submit general results. My article with the laboratory was ridiculed by the editor's reply before. The editor said that such data was a waste of his time to review the manuscript.

plos biology is a very decent old journal with a small number of manuscripts and a high degree of recognition. Therefore, the difficulty of publication will be correspondingly greater. The innovativeness and data volume of the article are relatively high. After contact, the entire editorial team is very professional and peer-reviewed. The quality is also high. In addition, the journal has a scoop protection mechanism, which is a good choice for situations where articles may be rushed.
